Participate in a Study

Thank you for your interest in taking part in research from the Root Lab at St. Olaf College. This page lists our studies that are currently open for online participation. Each study runs in your web browser and can be completed on a laptop or desktop computer.

What to Expect

Before you begin, you will read an informed consent form describing the study, what your participation involves, and your rights as a participant. You may stop at any time without penalty. Most tasks ask you to respond quickly and accurately to items on the screen, so it helps to find a quiet space where you can work without interruption for the full session.

Eligibility

Unless a specific study states otherwise, participants must be at least 18 years old and have normal or corrected-to-normal vision. Some studies have additional requirements, which will be listed on the study’s consent page.

Questions or Concerns

If you have questions about a study, contact Dr. Brian Rivera at rivera21@stolaf.edu. Questions about your rights as a research participant may be directed to the St. Olaf College Institutional Review Board (IRB).
